Renewed UK Government advice for those interested in Spanish property.

In the Age of Pandemia, when our media outlets seem crammed with confusion, hubris and worry, it is something of a relief to welcome a UK Government briefing to assist British nationals who are interested in Spanish property.

Yesterday, the newly renamed following merger, Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, updated their advice to those interested with the launch of “Spain: buying and renting property”.

From its useful Purchaser’s Checklist to a section called “Complaints against the legal system” and thorough details and links to address questions of residency, this is a useful guide for those who are considering a new life in Spain. It assists by addressing a number of questions that we have seen discussed ad infinitude in these and other blogs over the last few months.

Buying or renting a property in a country which is somewhat alien to you is not always an easy matter. While the FCO advice does seek to demystify the process it can still be complex and somewhat confusing. Being at the same time conducted in Spainish, can leave a potential purchaser’s with culture shock.

Our professional aim is to appreciate this and to seek to smooth, as much as possible, the buying process in our region of Spain, which is largely the coast from Malaga to Gibraltar.
